It’s September, which means many LJers are back in school - including some of our own staff members! Whether you’re missing your friends back home, or eager to meet new friends, there are many cool ways to take LiveJournal to school with you.

If you’re a student, you can join or create a community associated with your school. For instance, Vanderbilt University students talk amongst themselves in [info]vanderbrats, UT Austin students convene in [info]ut_austin, and Chamberlain High students share information in [info]chamberlainhigh.

To find journals or communities associated with your school, we’ve created a new Schools feature. You can list schools on your journal or community’s userinfo page, and also search for other journals who list your school. If you can’t find a community for your school, start one!

If you’re researching college, visit [info]college_help to discuss everything from admissions, food, class sizes, and class material to graduate schools, careers, and majors.

You can bring LiveJournal into your classroom by creating a journal or community around a specific class. Mrs. B. uses [info]geekette_1 to communicate classroom assignments to students in an 8th grade physical science class, as well as give them contacts within the local college community to answer questions and find resources.

If you know of cool school-related journals or communities, please post about them in the comments.
